To cater to a diverse set of needs, Beauty and the Beast the Musical is thrilled to offer the following performances on specific dates in Melbourne.

VISUAL STORY – GENERAL PERFORMANCE

If you are attending a general performance of Beauty and the Beast (not the Relaxed Performance), please refer to the below visual story. A Relaxed Performance specific Visual Story can be accessed below under the Relaxed Performance information.

AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCE
Date to be Announced

At this performance, the audience will be able to listen to live verbal commentary on the visual elements of the show.

RELAXED PERFORMANCE
Date to be Announced

At this performance, audience members will be encouraged to be completely themselves during the show – to make sounds, move around, fidget or use noise cancelling headphones.

Based on an assessment by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) staff, modifications will be made to the show, foyers and the entire experience, to consider and care for those who may need specific supports. There will be extra staff on hand and dedicated quiet areas. Before the show, a pre-show welcome will take place (introducing some of the characters, sensory-significant scenes and volume of the orchestra). During the show, subtle changes will be made to the lights and sound.

Relaxed Performance Visual Story (Coming Soon).

AUSLAN INTERPRETED PERFORMANCE
Date to be Announced

At this performance, an experienced Auslan theatre interpreter will stand to the side of the stage and interpret the story into Auslan, signing live.
